The Story
Born in Zagreb.
Built for the Water.
Valent (born 1988) and Martin (born 1989) Sinković grew up in Zagreb, Croatia, and began training together at HAVK Mladost — the Croatian Academic Rowing Club on the shores of Lake Jarun — in 1999. They have raced together internationally since 2008.
What followed is one of the most extraordinary careers in the history of Olympic sport. Three consecutive Olympic gold medals across two different boat classes — double sculls in Rio, coxless pair in Tokyo, coxless pair again in Paris — a feat no rowing pair has ever matched.
In 2014, they set the World Best Time in the double sculls at the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, becoming the first men's pair to complete the 2,000m course in under six minutes. That time has never been beaten.
Now, they have their sight set on LA28 and, as co-founders of RowCroatia™, sharing the waters that made them champions with rowers from around the world.
