The Experience

The Crew Arrives

There is something that happens when a rowing club travels together that cannot be manufactured. The shared anticipation at the airport. The first sighting of the Adriatic from the transfer vehicle. The moment your crew steps onto a Croatian dock for the first time and realizes that everything you told them about this place was, if anything, an understatement.

Your itinerary begins with a welcome dinner designed around your group — a long table, local wine, and the kind of unhurried conversation that only happens when a team is somewhere entirely new. Your RowCroatia trip director will be there from the first evening, and will remain your single point of contact for everything that follows. Accommodation is chosen for location over prestige — close to the water, inside the old town, in the kind of building that makes the context feel right from the moment you arrive.

On the Water Together

The morning rows are the heart of it. Your club on Croatian water — whether that is the protected harbor at Split, the glassy channel at Hvar, the extraordinary stillness of Lim Bay, or the flat delta channels of the Neretva where the river finally meets the sea. We match the venues to your group's ambitions and your coach's priorities. The water here is forgiving enough for technical work and dramatic enough to make every session feel like an occasion.

Afternoons are yours to shape. Some groups want coaching clinics and video analysis. Others want the old town, the wine, the long lunch that turns into dinner. Most want both — and we build the days to accommodate exactly that. Your itinerary is a starting point, not a contract.

Every group is different. Your itinerary should be too.

The Table That Makes a Team

You will know the dinner when it happens. The Plavac Mali is nearly gone and nobody has asked for the check. Someone at the far end of the table is already asking your trip director which dates work for next year. Your coach — who has not stopped talking about blade angles since Split — is talking about something else entirely, and has been for the past hour. Croatia does this to groups. It is not something we plan. It is something the place does.

The cultural programme runs through the week rather than bolted on at the edges. A morning at a wine producer in the Pelješac hills who has been making the same grape on the same hillside for four generations and sees no reason to change. A visit to a market where the produce arrives at six and is gone by nine. An evening in a town your group will have largely to itself, because it is not the town on the cover of the guidebook — and is better for it.

The Last Row

Your final morning on the water is always the best one. Not because the rowing is different, but because you know what you are leaving. The light on the water at that hour. The particular silence before the first stroke. The way your crew moves together now compared to how they moved on the first day.

We will take care of everything that follows — transfers, luggage, the logistics of getting a group of rowers and their kit back to wherever you came from. Your only job on the last morning is to be in the boat.
